Library Organisations

Surprisingly, far from being a unified profession there are a number of organisations involved in representing and funding libraries across the sectoral spectrum. From professional bodies such as Cilip to trade unions like Unison.

The standing joke that if you put two librarians in a room you get three opinions seems to ring true for the proliferation of representative bodies as well. But whatever you do, don’t shout ‘splitters!’.

Please feel free to contact me if you know of any other organisations that should be included.
